Ultimate Coverage Allies: My Top 3 Full Coverage Foundation Favourites!

As a Makeup Lover, I've come across countless foundations, but when it comes to achieving a Full Coverage complexion, these three stunning foundations have earned a special place in my heart and makeup bag! So let's get into why I love them & how I feel they deliver nothing short of perfection.

ILLAMASQUA SKIN BASE FOUNDATION

This foundation is my absolute favourite Full Coverage foundation. It was actually the first full coverage foundation I tried and it was love at first application!

SkinBase is a matte formula but to me, it has a satin-matte finish. It's lightweight and doesn't feel drying on the skin. It creates a beautiful, smooth, full coverage base, it photographs amazingly and it LASTS!

As with all foundations, especially full coverage foundations, skin prep is key to how it sits and wears on the skin. I like to pair this foundation with Illamasqua's Hydra Veil Primer. This primer feels so refreshing & cooling on the skin. It provides a super hydrating base and is the perfect partner to Skin Base Foundation. I talk more about this primer here.

I apply this foundation with a flat head kabuki brush. My fave is the F20 from Blank Canvas Cosmetics. I use stippling motions, gently tapping it into the skin, then use a beauty blender to perfect the application. This ensures there are no brush marks & gives a flawless, full coverage finish.

I have loved Illamasqua for EVER and I enjoy using so many of their products. I particularly admire how they are constantly working towards becoming a completely vegan brand.

DANESSA MYRICKS VISION CREAM COVER FOUNDATION - CONCEALER HYBRID

(Try saying that after a glass of wine!)

Aaaahhh The Queen of Innovative Makeup products...... be prepared to fall in love -

This unique, weightless formula can be used as a foundation, concealer, corrector, it has it ALL!

It contains Vitamin E, giving hydration, 100% plant derived Squalene - more hydration, and Squalene is also known for its anti inflammatory properties. What a treat to have all of this goodness packed into your foundation.

As with all of Danessa Myricks products, this foundation is extremely, extremely pigmented. One tiny drop will cover your whole face, giving amazing coverage, minimizing texture & providing a stunning, full coverage base.

I like to apply this foundation with a sponge/beauty blender for a flawless full coverage finish. While this formula provides full coverage, it can also be used to achieve a sheer or medium finish. I love to mix it with the Danessa Myricks Beauty Oil for a sheer, glowy coverage. The Beauty Oil is a lightweight, fast absorbing oil so it won't leave any residue on the skin. It also contains gold flakes -excuuuuse me!- which help with redness - THANK YOU!

As I said before, this foundation is amazing. It can be mixed with many mediums including oil, wax, silicone, the options to play around with it are endless.

WOW! What a product!

I first purchased this foundation when I was in Florida at a Sephora, around 6/7 years ago and I always make sure to keep it topped up in my makeup bag. It truly does what it claims - Your Skin but Better. The formula is super creamy and gives the best full coverage, while somehow at the same time, ensuring your skin looks like your skin. OH I love it so much! It's lightweight too and almost feels like nothing on the skin. It has an SPF of 50+, is a colour correcting formula, it also contains hyaluronic acid among other skin loving ingredients. It improves the appearance of skin imperfections such as pores, dark circles, redness and is a popular foundation among those of us with Rosacea.

This foundation provides excellent coverage and gives a lovely dewy finish to the skin. I like to apply it with a flat head kabuki brush to ensure full coverage perfection.
